About
Hello, my name is James L. Bantz, III. I am a “thirty-something”, full-time electrical engineering student at The University of Texas-Pan American now just a mere 24 credit hours shy of graduating with my BSEE (as of the writing of this page). I have also been already accepted to the graduate school of the same university to pursue my MSE with a concentration in electrical control systems engineering. I am also one of two members of this years’ robotics team, The Fighting Mongooses, representing the University in the upcoming IEEE Conference Region 5 Robotics Competition to be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma in April of 2012. Occasionally I have also been known to be seen around the halls of Metro Electric, Inc. where I serve as their sole IT/MIS custodian, although these days this is rare due to the fact I did my job too well about a year back and am now rarely ever needed
.
I was born and raised in Hartford City, Indiana in the late 70′s to my father, James L. Bantz, II (a.k.a. JB2), and my mother, Kim Bantz. I have one sibling, my younger sister, Kendra Storer, who in March of this year (2011) blessed me with my new niece, Kinley. My life is also blessed with my three four-legged companions Dixie, Mason, and the red-headed stepchild, Scarlet. Lastly, and certainly not least, I have for the last eight years shared my life with my partner and soulmate, Jerry; without whose dedication and strength I would not be so close to my goal of finally graduating with my undergraduate degree.
This site and its content owes its existence to my parents putting that first computer in my hands some 25 years ago; my father, JB2, and my good friend Claire Willis for helping me discover and find the passion to seek and capture the fleeting moments and places in each of our short journeys through Life and commit them to the permanence of paper or the pervasiveness of the Internet so that others may share in that journey, now and maybe more importantly after its conclusion.
With that said, the intent, or should I hazard to even say the goal, of this small site is to shed a little light on myself and the things I most enjoy: engineering, photography, and computers. If those things interest you as well, I invite you further to kick back and hopefully enjoy what you find within. I gladly welcome your comments and opinions, however, be aware I do monitor and audit all who post on this site. Should this in any way infringe on your fragile sensibilities or your misguided belief that you should be allowed to freely post within, then…, well… (you get the picture.)
Sincerely,
JB3 (Extremely-proud Uncle
)

Jimi, this is a wonderful site! I am so glad you are enjoying photography – it is an art form, so I am not surprised you are finding it “up your alley”. I love my son very, very much,
Mom
You have a very good eye for photography….hope to see you this weekend at the Onion Fest in Weslaco!
Thanks, Rey! Definitely interested… will be there with camera in hand.
This website is awesome! I love all of your pictures; apparently I need to be talking to you about my “fancy” camera purchase I’m wanting to make later this year! I am so so so very proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished; this website doesn’t show your intelligence or talent for what it really is, but it’s still a nice site
Kinley is very lucky to have you for an uncle
And I’m even more lucky to have you as a brother…
Love you,
Kendra
